I've been working on a new PBR MatCap shader (Material Capture).
MatCaps are not new by any stretch of the word, but they are a wonderful way of creating realism without all the mathematical overhead. I've wanted a PBR version of MatCaps for a long time, and this is what I have come up with so far!
Unity's Ellen rendered with MatCaps. Her skin, clothes, and the floor are all using MatCaps.
Here she is again so you can see the iridescence, emission, and shadowing.
Once I have both the Built-In and URP versions complete, they will go up onto the Unity Asset Store.
I am happy to announce I'll be releasing a demo of my new VR game later this year. It's called GOB 'n' GOB, and you guessed it, it uses Sound Reactor Pro. I will post screenshots when I'm closer to finishing the demo.
